DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In-Engine Audio Implementation: Directly integrate sound effects (SFX), ambient tracks, and music into the Unity engine using standard AudioSources, AudioMixers, and triggers.
- Sound Design & Creation: Record, synthesize, edit, and mix high-quality original sounds for characters, UI, impacts, and abilities.
- Environmental Audio Setup: Design and implement immersive 3D soundscapes. Set up Reverb Zones, spatial blending, and ambient sound nodes to make the game world feel alive and reactive.
- Audio Auditing & Polish: Review the current state of the game's audio. Identify missing sounds, fix mixing issues (volume balancing, clipping), and significantly improve the overall auditory experience.
- Optimization: Manage audio asset settings (compression, load types) to ensure optimal memory usage and performance without sacrificing audio quality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with game designers, animators, and developers to ensure sounds trigger exactly when they should (e.g., via Animation Events or code hooks).
Requirements:
- Proven experience working directly within the Unity engine (strong understanding of Unity's native Audio system, AudioMixer, and spatial audio settings).
- High proficiency in at least one major DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) such as Reaper, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, or Cubase.
- Strong sound design portfolio showcasing a variety of SFX (e.g., combat, environment, UI).
- Solid understanding of audio mixing and mastering principles tailored for video games (dynamic range, EQ, compression).
- Experience with Version Control Systems (Git, Plastic SCM, etc.) to safely commit Unity scene changes
