3D Animator
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Rig 7 NPCs using our existing rig and assist with creating new rigs for 14 player skins that currently lack rigging.
- Develop upper-body animations for the player character, ensuring smooth transitions and lifelike movement.
- Create and implement realistic drone animations, including thruster movement and the deployment/retraction of its components.
- Import, configure, and optimize animations in Unity for smooth performance on all platforms.
- Work closely with the Art Director and Game Designer to ensure animations align with the game’s vision and gameplay requirements.
- Adjust and optimize pre-made animations to better fit the project and the game's visual style.
- Regularly participate in code reviews and offer constructive feedback on animation-related tasks.
- Collaborate with the QA team to ensure animations function properly and without bugs in the game.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of 3D animation principles and rigging.
- Proficiency in Maya for animation creation and rigging.
- Ability to integrate and set up animations in Unity using animator, animation states, and controllers.
- Ability to work with pre-made animations, adjusting and optimizing them for the project’s specific needs.
- Experience working with humanoid character animation in semi-realistic or realistic styles.
- Familiarity with optimizing animations for performance in Unity.
- Experience with NPC rigging, as well as rigging characters with different body structures (e.g., zombies, animals, drones).
- At least 3 years of experience in game development, particularly in 3D animation.
- Portfolio demonstrating humanoid character animation in a semi-realistic or realistic style is a must.
- Experience in a game development environment (especially in Unity) is required.
- Experience in rigging NPCs and player characters is highly beneficial.
